We are a dedicated family of French Bulldog breeders, originally from Europe, now spread across the USA. Our family consists of passionate, ethical, and carefully selected breeders who share the values of TomKings and maintain our strict standards of quality and care. Can I visit the puppies?
To ensure the health and safety of our puppies, we don’t allow visits. However, we’re happy to arrange a video call so you can see your puppy in their home environment. This way, you can meet your puppy virtually and ask any questions you may have.

Do you have puppies available in the USA?
Yes, we have puppies available in the USA! While many of our Frenchies are born and raised in Europe, we also have breeders based in the United States. They are part of the TomKings Breeder Family, following our high standards and raising puppies from the same excellent European bloodlines. This means that families in the USA can easily welcome a TomKings puppy into their home, whether by picking them up at a nearby location or having them delivered directly to their home.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes, we do! At TomKings Puppies, we provide a Health Guarantee for every Frenchie we raise, reflecting our commitment to ensuring the health and happiness of our puppies.
Our guarantee covers all genetic disorders that may be fatal for your puppy. While such cases are extremely rare thanks to our rigorous health screenings and veterinary care, if your Frenchie ever faces such an issue, we will offer you another puppy to ensure you always have a healthy and loving companion.

Yes, absolutely! With their consent, we’re happy to provide you with the contact details of our TomKings Frenchie parents, even based on your location. Many of them would be happy to share their experiences and tell you more about life with a TomKings Frenchie.
How much do TomKings puppies cost?
At TomKings, our Frenchies are primarily valued based on their coat color and rarity:
- Standard colors: 3,150 – 5,270 USD
- Unique colors: 4,450 – 6,290 USD
- Exotic colors: from 6,480 USD
Beyond color, factors such as age, location and any special requirements (e.g. VIP nanny service, special training) can also influence the final adoption fee.

Our puppies go through rigorous health screenings to eliminate the risk of genetic disorders, ensuring that you welcome a happy and healthy new family member. What does the price include?
+ Flight ticket: For U.S.-based puppies, delivery to any U.S. airport or even directly to your home is included in the price. For puppies traveling from Europe, flights to selected U.S. and Canadian airports are also included, with some destinations requiring an additional fee:

+ Lifetime breeders help: We answer your questions within 24 hours ever after. We know that Frenchie owners have a bunch of questions about feeding, raising, training etc., but most of the breeders don’t have time for answering them. Our goal is to have happy and healthy puppies only, so we will be always there to answer your questions!
+ Lifetime vet assistance: Frenchie owners have a lot of questions about the health of their puppies. Most of the time they run to their vet and leave a fortune there for nothing. The official vet of TomKings Puppies is ready to answer all of your questions within 24 hours, so you don’t have to worry about your puppy’s health. We even tell you if you need to visit your vet but just if that’s necessary!
+ Health certification: Our puppies are examined strictly before they leave and we give you a health certificate which can be used if you want to have pet insurance for your puppy (which we highly recommend!).
+ Potty training: It is crucial how puppies are trained at the beginning of their life. At TomKings we focus not only on their health but also on their proper training so we start potty training making your job easier!
+ Socialization: We start socializing our puppies with other dogs and children as young as possible in order to have friendly and calm puppies.

Are there any additional services available?
+ Export registration and breeding rights: For an additional $600 USD, we provide an FCI registration, which includes a 4-generation pedigree of your puppy’s ancestors. This registration is transferable to the AKC (American Kennel Club) for an additional $100 USD.
+ Certificate of TomKings Origin: A stylish way to showcase your purebred TomKings French Bulldog! This certificate is perfect for framing and displaying at home or in your office, so your fur-baby is always with you. Please note, it cannot be used for AKC registration. It is carefully packaged and sent via post to ensure it arrives in mint condition. Available for $300 USD.
+ Package deal: You can purchase the Breeding Rights and the Certificate of TomKings Origin together for $800 USD.
+ DNA test: All of our puppies’ parents are fully DNA tested to ensure they are free from genetic disorders. However, due to the young age of our puppies, we do not conduct DNA tests on them at this stage. If you wish to have your puppy tested once they reach the appropriate age, we can arrange it for an additional fee.
How do I know if a Frenchie is the right breed for me?
French Bulldogs are a wonderful choice for many families, but it’s important to ensure they match your lifestyle. Known for their friendly and affectionate nature, Frenchies thrive in homes where they can be part of the family. Are all your available puppies visible on the website?
Our available puppies are first shown to families on our waitlist. After they’ve had the chance to choose, we upload the remaining puppies to our website.

Can I see pictures of the parents?
Yes, absolutely! You can find photos of each puppy’s parents on their individual webpage, and additional pictures are available in their Dropbox folder.
What ages of Frenchies do you offer?
At TomKings Puppies, we know every family is unique, so we offer Frenchies of all ages to help you find the perfect fit for your lifestyle:
- U.S.-Born Puppies: These puppies are available from 8 weeks old, ready to bring joy and energy into your home. Raising a puppy from the start allows you to experience all the milestones and create a deep bond during those precious early months.
- European-Born Frenchies: These puppies are available from 6 months old, making them the perfect choice for families who want an easier transition. They arrive house-trained, have stronger immune systems, and their personalities have started to develop.
- Adult French Bulldogs: If you’re looking for a more mature, calm companion or are interested in starting your own breeding program, our adult Frenchies are an excellent option. They provide stability, love, and a wonderful presence in your home.
No matter the age or personality, all of our Frenchies come from the same excellent European bloodline and are raised with love and care to become healthy, happy companions.
Are the puppies trained at TomKings Puppies?
At TomKings, we begin potty training as early as possible to make it easier for you to house-train your new puppy. Our puppies are introduced to using pet doors and are encouraged to go outside to the backyard for their needs.
In addition to potty training, we prioritize raising well-behaved and socialized puppies, giving them the best foundation for a smooth transition into their new homes.
Why are the puppies’ ears flopping?
It’s completely normal for Frenchie puppies to have floppy ears when they are young. As they grow, their ears gradually stand up as the cartilage becomes stronger. Some puppies may take a bit longer if their ears are naturally softer, but by the age of 4–6 months, all Frenchies’ ears should be upright.
Do you do DNA tests on your puppies?
We do not conduct DNA tests as part of our standard process. However, if you require a DNA test (e.g., for breeding purposes), we can arrange one for an additional fee upon request.
Can I get AKC/FCI registration for a TomKings Frenchie?
Yes, you can! If you plan to breed your Frenchie or sell their puppies, obtaining an export registration is essential to prove your dog’s pure bloodline.
You can request this document at the time of adoption or within two months after your puppy’s arrival. If requested during the adoption process, the cost is $600 USD. If requested afterward, the cost is $800 USD. Once requested, we’ll send the document to you within six months.
The export registration includes a 4-generation pedigree and is accepted in over 100 countries. You can also transfer it to the AKC (American Kennel Club) for approximately $100 USD by completing a simple application process. If needed, we’re happy to assist you with this!
With the export registration, you’ll also receive breeding rights for your Frenchie.
Please note that if you plan to own your Frenchie as a companion and do not intend to breed, an export registration is not necessary.
Certificate of TomKings Origin
The Certificate of TomKings Origin isa stylish way to showcase your purebred TomKings French Bulldog. This certificate is perfect for framing and displaying at home or in your office, keeping your furry companion close to your heart at all times.
Please note that this certificate is for display purposes only and cannot be used for AKC registration. To ensure it arrives in perfect condition, it will be carefully packaged and sent via post.
The certificate is available for $300 USD. Alternatively, you can purchase it as part of a package with the Export Registration for $800 USD.
What Payment methods do you accept?
We offer several payment options to suit your needs:

Wise is a convenient and secure way to send money from your U.S. bank account via bank transfer. It uses the ACH (Automated Clearing House) network, which is standard for domestic payments. You don’t need a Wise account to use it – simply enter your bank account details and include the necessary information like the reference number (that may vary from bank to bank, we’ll send everything you need via email). Payments usually arrive within 1 to 3 business days.
- Stripe is an Irish-American fast and safe option for making payments.
Do I need to pay customs duties (tariffs) when buying a puppy from TomKings?
In most cases, our U.S. families don’t have to pay import taxes or customs duties. When paying via ACH transfer through Wise (a secure method with low fees), we offer to fully cover customs duties (tariffs) for you. You just need to make sure to complete the payment at least 10 days before travel, so everything is processed smoothly and on time.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. We accept credit and debit card payments securely through Stripe. Wise is also available for bank transfers, giving you secure and convenient payment options.
Do I need a Stripe or Wise account to pay?
No. You do not need to create an account with either platform. With Wise, you can make a secure bank transfer using your regular bank details and the information we provide. With Stripe, you can pay by credit or debit card through the secure payment link we send you. We will guide you through the process.
What is the Puppy Saving Account?
The Puppy Saving Account is a flexible option designed to make bringing home your Frenchie more manageable. You reserve a place on our waitlist with an initial deposit, then make partial payments at regular intervals through Stripe or Wise. This lets you build up the balance gradually so you are ready when the right puppy becomes available.
How does it work?
- Reserve your spot: Choose your preferred Frenchie colour or colours and place the $250 waitlist deposit.
- Choose a schedule: Make partial payments weekly, every two weeks, or monthly.
- Get notified: We contact you when a puppy matching your preferences becomes available.
- Complete the adoption: Choose your puppy and finalise the reservation with the balance already partly or fully paid.
What are the benefits?
- Priority: A reserved waitlist spot improves your chance of finding your preferred puppy.
- Flexibility: Smaller scheduled payments can be easier to manage than one full payment.
- Control: You choose the payment interval that works best for you.
Do you offer financing or a payment plan?
We do not offer direct financing. However, our Puppy Saving Account provides a flexible way to make partial payments over time while you wait for the right puppy. Payments are handled through Stripe or Wise according to the schedule agreed with our team.
How are Stripe and Wise payments protected?
We use Stripe and Wise for secure, traceable payments. Stripe processes card payments through a secure payment link, while Wise provides traceable bank transfers. We send official payment instructions and our team guides you through every step of the transaction.
Process of payment
Our payment process ensures a secure and transparent payment experience for our valued customers:
- Initial Deposit: To reserve your spot on our waitlist, a $250 USD deposit is required.
- Puppy Selection: Once you select a specific puppy, the deposit will need to be increased to 20% of the total price. If you’re not on the waitlist and choose a puppy directly, the 20% deposit is due at the time of selection.
- Final Payment: The remaining 80% of the balance is due 10 days before your puppy’s scheduled travel date.
How long does it take to receive your puppy?
From the moment you reserve your puppy, it will take about 7-10 days for us to arrange everything and have your puppy delivered into your loving arms. Our puppies born in the USA can join their new families as early as 8 weeks old, so they’re perfect for those eager to experience the joy of raising a young pup. For those preferring a more trained and adaptable puppy with a stronger immune system and established personality, our junior Frenchies can travel to the USA at 6 months old. Process of buying a puppy
- You choose a puppy from the available puppies list, keeping in mind that some are located in the USA and some in Europe.
- We send you a form to fill out with your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- We send you our health guarantee, contract, and the official Stripe payment link or Wise payment instructions (you do not need to create a Stripe account to use the payment link).
- You send 20% of the full price as a deposit via Stripe or Wise.
- We arrange the shipping, travel documents, and everything else.
- If shipping, you will be contacted by the airline to confirm the location and time for pickup.
- If you choose the local pickup option, you will receive instructions for the agreed-upon location where you can collect your puppy.
- You send the remaining 80% of the price 10 days before the shipping or pickup date.
- We send you all necessary documents via email, including the puppy’s passport, list of vaccinations, and invoice.
- You pick up your puppy at the airport or the designated location for local pickup.
- We provide lifelong support to help you raise your furry family member.
Process of reserving a puppy from a future litter (Waitlist)
Joining our waitlist ensures you’ll have the opportunity to reserve a puppy that matches your preferences. Here’s how the process works:
- You choose the color and gender of your desired puppy.
- You select the time frame when you will be ready to welcome your puppy.
- You send us your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- We send you our health guarantee, contract, and the official Stripe payment link or Wise payment instructions (you do not need to create a Stripe account to use the payment link).
- You place a $250 USD deposit via Stripe or Wise to secure your spot on the waitlist.
- When the puppies are 6–8 weeks old, we send you pictures and videos (at this age, their proportions and structure closely resemble their adult appearance).
- You choose your puppy from the available options.
- You select a shipping date from the options we provide.
- We handle all the arrangements for shipping, travel documents, and other logistics.
- If shipping, the airline will contact you with details about the pickup location and time.
- If you choose the local pickup option, we will provide instructions for the agreed-upon location to collect your puppy in person.
- You send the remaining balance through Stripe or Wise a few days before the shipping or pickup date.
- We email you all necessary documents, including the puppy’s passport, list of vaccinations, and invoice.
- You pick up your puppy at the airport or the designated location for local pickup.
- We provide lifelong support to help you raise your beloved furry family member.

How do I join the Waitlist?
- Complete the Waitlist Application Form: We’ll send you the form by email, where you can specify your preferred color(s) and gender for your future puppy. You can also let us know when you’d ideally like to bring your puppy home, so we can reach out at the best time.
- Review Our Health Guarantee: We’ll provide you with our Health Guarantee, contract, and an official Stripe payment link or Wise payment instructions, so you have everything you need to proceed with confidence.
- Secure Your Spot with a Deposit: Once your deposit is received, your place on the Waitlist is reserved, giving you priority access and a price lock.
What happens once I’m on the Waitlist?
- Receive Regular Updates: As puppies matching your preferences (color and gender) become available (typically around 6–8 weeks old), we’ll send you exclusive photos and videos so you can get to know their unique personalities.
- Choose Your Puppy When Ready: When you find the right match, simply confirm your choice and extend the deposit to 20% of the puppy’s price.
- Shipping and Documentation: We’ll handle all travel arrangements and provide all necessary documents (passport, vaccination records, invoice) before your puppy arrives.
- Final Payment Before Arrival: Ten days before your puppy’s journey home, you’ll complete the remaining balance.
- Pick Up Your Puppy: You can welcome your puppy home by picking them up at your nearest airport or through local pickup.
- Lifelong Support: From the moment your new pup arrives, we’re here to provide lifelong support and guidance as you raise your furry family member.
Is it difficult to get a puppy from TomKings Puppies?
Not at all! We take care of all the logistics to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. All you need to do is arrive at the pre-arranged location at the agreed-upon time to pick up your puppy. Leave the details to us, so you can focus on welcoming your new furry family member!
How much is the shipping?
For U.S.-based puppies, delivery to any U.S. airport or even direct home delivery is included in the price.
For puppies traveling from Europe, we arrange flights to select U.S. and Canadian airports. Some destinations may incur an additional fee.

Can I pick up my puppy?
Yes, you can of course pick up your puppy in person. If you are adopting one of our Europe-based puppies, you can pick them up in Hungary. For our USA-based puppies, local pick-up can be arranged at a convenient location within the United States. The details may vary for each pup, so please contact our Frenchie experts for more information on the exact location and process.
Is it safe to fly for a puppy?
Absolutely! At TomKings Puppies, the safety and well-being of our puppies are our top priorities. We would never risk their health or comfort. All of our puppies are transported by experienced pet shipping experts, ensuring that someone is always with them during the flight.
Over the years, we’ve safely shipped more than a thousand puppies worldwide, including to the USA and Canada, without a single serious issue. Flying is just as safe as traveling by car and, in many cases, less stressful than a long car ride.
Here’s how we ensure their safety:
- Puppies are not transported with luggage or cargo. Airlines provide specially designated areas for pets, which are temperature-controlled and pressurized, just like the passenger cabin.
- Your puppy will never be drugged.
- Each puppy travels in a new, airline-approved plastic crate, with clear visibility on the front and sides, equipped with food, water, and a blanket.
- During layovers, puppies are moved to temperature-controlled holding rooms to rest before their next flight.
- Extra food is taped to the crate in case of unexpected delays.
- Before the flight, every puppy undergoes a thorough vet check and receives a health certificate for travel.
We take every precaution to ensure a safe, comfortable journey for your new furry family member.

At what age can the puppies travel?
Our Frenchies based in Europe can travel to their new families at 6 months old. This age allows them to be more mature, adaptable and house-trained, making it easier to settle into their new homes. They also have stronger immune systems, reducing the risk of infections. For our U.S.-based puppies, they can travel as early as 8 weeks old after receiving all their shots and vet examinations, usually between 8-12 weeks. This flexibility ensures you can choose the best age for your new Frenchie.
At which American or Canadian airports can I get my puppy?

Yes, we ship puppies worldwide, with the exception of Hawaii, Australia, and India. Our puppies have already joined loving families across South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Do I have to pay tax at the airport?
This depends on your country’s import regulations. In the United States, there is no tax for importing puppies. However, there is typically a handling fee of $70–$120 USD, which is paid directly to the airline at the airport.

Do I have to arrange import documents for the pet travel?
The requirements depend on your country’s regulations. In the United States, there is no need for an import permit. We take care of all the necessary documents for you—your only responsibility is to drive to the airport, sign the paperwork, and pick up your puppy.

Does my puppy have to be in a quarantine after the arrival?
In most countries, quarantine is not required for puppies upon arrival.

I’m on the waitlist – When can I choose my puppy?
Once we have a litter that matches your requested color and gender, and the puppies reach 6 weeks of age (when their proportions start resembling their adult size), we’ll send you pictures of the available ones.
At this point, you can decide whether you’d like to pick a puppy from that litter or wait for the next one. The exact timing depends on upcoming litters and the preferences of other adopters ahead of you on the waitlist.
I’m on the waitlist – Is the deposit refundable?
Yes, your deposit is fully refundable until you choose your puppy from a litter.
Once you’ve selected your puppy, the deposit becomes non-refundable, as it covers holding the puppy for you and the costs related to shipping and documentation.
For security, we use Stripe and Wise, using official payment instructions for a secure and traceable transaction.
I picked my puppy – Do I need to extend the deposit?
Yes, after choosing your puppy, you’ll need to increase your deposit to 20% of the total purchase price. The initial $250 deposit you’ve already paid will be counted toward this amount. This should be completed within about a week.
When can I get new pictures/videos of my chosen puppy?
As we have many wonderful puppies and families eager for updates, we can only provide new videos every 2 weeks. Our top priority is the health and care of our Frenchies, so we dedicate most of our time to them. Occasionally, there might be a short delay due to new litters, family events, or other responsibilities, but we always aim to send updates as soon as possible.
Please check when your chosen fur baby’s latest pictures/videos were uploaded to their Dropbox folder. If they are older than two weeks, feel free to request new ones by emailing [email protected].
Can we make a video call with my chosen puppy?
Of course! We understand how important it is to see your chosen puppy in a live video call. Our TomKings nannies are dedicated to caring for the puppies, and their schedules can be quite busy. However, we always do our best to find a time that works for everyone.

Can I change my puppy’s name?
Of course! Most families choose a new name for their puppy right after selecting them, and Frenchies adjust to it quickly. They’re smart little dogs and can easily learn a new name—even older pups can adapt with just a little consistency!
If you’ve already picked the perfect name, let us know! We’ll start using it in all updates and pass it on to your puppy’s TomKings nanny, so they can begin calling them by their new name right away.

Do I need to pay extra if I want to get my puppy at a later date?
We usually let our puppies travel when they are 8-12 weeks old for U.S.-based puppies and 6 months old for European-born Frenchies. If you need more information about your puppy’s travel date, feel free to email [email protected].
If you’d like your Frenchie to stay with us longer, we may be able to accommodate this if we have extra space. However, older puppies require additional care and training, so this must be discussed in advance. We typically charge $100 per week for extended care.

During layovers, the puppies are taken off the plane and placed in a pet hotel, where they receive fresh food, water, and plenty of pampering to keep them comfortable and relaxed until their next flight.
Flight with a Professional Nanny (U.S. Only)
For families in the U.S., puppies can travel with a flight nanny, who personally accompanies them in the cabin. The nanny is with your Frenchie every step of the journey, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared for. From takeoff to landing, they monitor your puppy’s well-being, provide reassurance, and keep them relaxed. Upon arrival, the nanny personally hands your puppy over to you.
Throughout the journey, the nanny stays in constant communication with you, providing updates so you can feel at ease knowing your puppy is in loving hands. This option ensures a smooth, secure, and stress-free transition to their forever home.
Ground Transportation with a Nanny (U.S. Only)

When using a customs broker, they act on your behalf to handle the import process. To do this, they must provide proof to customs that you are a legitimate individual. This is why they require a Power of Attorney form that includes your SSN and a copy of your valid photo ID.

- Photo update: In most cases, we will also send a picture of your puppy at the airport before departure.
Final email (day before travel): You’ll receive a photocopy of all necessary documents to present at the airport. We can only send this after your puppy’s final veterinary checkup, as this is when we receive the last stamp in their passport.

What food does my puppy eat at TomKings Farm?
Your puppy has been started on Hill’s Chicken Puppy Medium food. To ensure a smooth transition and prevent digestive issues like vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite, we strongly recommend continuing with the same food when you bring your puppy home. Once your Frenchie has settled in, you can gradually switch to another brand if needed.
Follow the age-appropriate portion recommendations on the bag, based on an expected adult weight of 24 lbs (11 kg). You can soften the kibble by adding a little water if necessary, but be careful not to exceed the recommended portion, as overfeeding can cause diarrhea.
If diarrhea occurs, reducing the portion size for two days usually helps. You can also try feeding boiled rice and carrots as a gentle remedy. If symptoms persist, your puppy may need probiotics or medication, so it’s best to consult your vet. Young puppies have sensitive digestion, so maintaining a stable diet is key to keeping them healthy and happy.
At which American or Canadian airports can I receive my puppy?

What papers do I need to bring to the airport?

If your airline allows pickup without a broker, you’ll need to bring a copy of the pet passport to the customs office for stamping. Your puppy can still be in transit while you complete this step. Once cleared, you will take the stamped documents to the airline’s cargo facility to collect your puppy.

- Cleaning supplies: Puppies can sometimes get a little messy during travel, so having wet wipes, a small garbage bag for crate shavings, and a dry spray shampoo or vinegar-water solution can be helpful.

How to train your dog to hold pee for longer periods of time?
There’s no exact number for how long a dog can hold their pee—it mainly depends on their age, but other individual factors can also play a role. Some nine-month-old pups may only manage six hours, while others can go for eight.
Based on our experience, young puppies around five months old typically need to go every 5–6 hours, while adult dogs can comfortably wait up to ten hours.
So how can you train your pup to hold it a bit longer?
Start by taking your puppy outside to pee and make a note of the time. Then bring them back inside and wait until they need to go again. Measure the time between the two pees, and subtract one hour—that’ll give you a good idea of their current limit. From then on, try to take them for a walk before reaching that interval. Here’s a quick example!
Let’s say Horatio, our imaginary five-month-old Frenchie, pees at 2 PM, and then again at 8 PM—but this time, on the kitchen floor. That’s a six-hour gap. If we subtract one hour, we know Horatio should go outside every five hours for now.
Now that you know your pup’s routine, you can start building it up. For two weeks, take them out every five hours. After that, extend the interval by 30 minutes—so now you take them out every 5.5 hours. Keep progressing gradually like this until they reach their max capacity (which will still depend on their age, so don’t expect a five-month-old to hold it like an adult!).
During training, make sure to praise your pup every time they pee outside. Celebrate it! Give them a treat or some playtime. Once they’re fully potty trained, you don’t have to throw a party every time—but those early rewards make a big difference.
And don’t forget: no matter how well they’re trained, your dog should still go for at least one longer walk each day!
Do you have a pet door?
A pet door can be super helpful, but teaching your pup to use it takes a little time and patience. The first step is simply helping them get comfortable walking through that small doorway. At the beginning, leave the flap open so they only need to walk through the open frame.
Some dogs will need encouragement and lots of positive reinforcement, while others get the hang of it quickly. Either way, never force your pup through the door or rush the process. If they seem unsure, just be patient. When they do walk through on their own, celebrate it! Show them how proud you are—treats, praise, whatever makes them happy!

How to select the best training school for your Frenchie
How much time do I need to spend with my puppy daily?
One of the reasons why French Bulldogs are so popular is their flexibility—they really do adapt to your lifestyle.
If you’re working outside the home during the day, your Frenchie will likely spend most of the time snoozing, and be over-the-moon excited to greet you when you come back. On the flip side, if you love going for walks or spending your days outdoors, they’ll happily join you and keep up with your plans.
Some of our TomKings puppy parents even take their pups with them to work! Others crate train their Frenchie to keep them safe while they’re out. On busy days, hiring a dog walker can also be a great solution.
When going on holiday, many families choose a trusted pet hotel for their Frenchie.
At the end of the day, the most important thing to know is this: Frenchies are incredibly adaptable and can be happy in many different routines—as long as they’re loved and feel safe.
Aggressive behavior between two male Frenchies
It’s completely natural for two male dogs to establish a pecking order—just like in any pack, there’s always one who tries to take the lead. This kind of dominance behavior is common and not necessarily a problem, as long as it doesn’t escalate.
If one of your boys starts to cross a line, it’s important that you step in right away. As their human parent, you’re the ultimate leader in the pack, and your dogs need to see and feel that. Interrupt the behavior firmly: use a calm but confident voice to tell him off, and if needed, gently remove him from the situation to reinforce your position.
We know it’s not easy emotionally, but this is how you help set boundaries and teach your pups that aggression isn’t acceptable, especially when you’re around.
Let us give you an example: Tom’s Frenchie doesn’t usually let Sandra’s (Tom’s partner) English Bulldog into the doghouse. But as soon as Tom or Sandra shows up, the Frenchie immediately backs down and lets him in. Why? Because he knows the humans are in charge, and when the pack leader is present, there’s no room for fighting or misbehavior.

Every puppy grows at their own pace, but in general, we recommend moving from three to two meals a day around the 5-month mark.
If your pup starts to put on extra weight earlier, it’s perfectly fine to make the switch sooner.
On the flip side, if your little one is still on the leaner side by five months, you can safely stick to three meals a day until around 8 months.
What to do if my Frenchie eats too fast?
If your Frenchie finishes their meal before you’ve even had time to put the food bag away, you’re not alone! Eating too quickly is common in dogs—and especially in Frenchies—but luckily, there are easy ways to help slow them down:

Choose large-grain dog food whenever possible. Smaller kibble is too easy to swallow without chewing, and it can even pose a choking hazard. Bigger pieces encourage chewing, which naturally slows your pup down.

Our puppies are dewormed every two weeks from the age of 4 weeks old (passport VII. page) and they also get Simparica Trio against ticks, fleas and heartworms right before they leave (passport VIII. page). Please deworm your puppy every 6 months, if there is a warning sign, you should do it more often. If you notice worms in your puppy’s stool, repeat the treatment in two weeks.
The chip is in the left shoulder of your angel. The chip number is on page III. of the passport.
We recommend a Bordetella vaccine (Nobivac KC) to be administered against kennel cough after the age of 15 weeks old, when the puppy’s immune system is more developed and enough time has passed since their rabies shot.

Flopping ear(s)
All of the Frenchies’ ears are flopping when they are babies and they stand up gradually as they get stronger! There are puppies whose ears are weaker, their ears straighten a little later. By the age of 4-6 months old, all of the puppies ears are standing!
You can also help them stand up by taping:
You should tape it for three days and then let it rest for one day. It will take a couple of weeks until the ear stands up without tape, but you need to be very consistent in order to see the results! 🙂

The tape we recommend is called Rolltex. If you can’t find it, look for a woven medical tape that is about 1 inch wide.

If you feed them a little bit of Gerber baby cereal with condensed milk with a morning meal and a night meal. Just a little bit, maybe the size of a shot glass. It’s like magic!
During teething the puppies consume most of their calcium, so sometimes their ears lose a little perkiness, but replenishing calcium would make wonders to pop them up again!

Otitis or Earwax? – How to keep your dog’s ears clean?
If you are unsure of whether your dog is having otitis or is it just earwax, please continue reading.
Dog ears can become greasy, too, just like any human ear. Therefore, you need to clean them the same way: with ear swabs or with wet wipes. But they need to be cleaned often, as they can quickly become greasy again. Dog earwax has a dark brown color, and this is normal.

If your dog starts to shake his head and scratch the ears with his legs, go and check his ears. If you see a light yellow colored, purulent fluid instead of the usual dark brown, thick wax, your dog needs antibiotic ear drops.

Nostrils surgery
Nostril and soft palate surgery is quite a controversial topic as it is difficult to determine when a Frenchie is struggling and when their breathing is considered normal. It mostly depends on your experiences as you’re the one who sees how your puppy is doing day by day.
You should always pay attention to him/her when s/he’s doing some sort of physical exercise like playing, running or hiking. If you see that s/he is soon short of breath, starts panting really quickly, maybe even needs to lie down, then a surgery can be justified. But if s/he is just snoring and breathing a bit louder, that is completely normal.
You should also take into account that Frenchies are a small-sized breed with shorter snout and legs, and they will never be as athletic as bigger-sized dogs. That’s why you should never let him/her do too much exercise at once.
So if your instincts tell you that your Frenchie is having difficulties and needs a surgery, you can go ahead and do it. However, never do it only because your vet says so! Most of the time they are doing it totally in vain because Frenchies’ breathing is simply different than other breeds’, but that doesn’t mean that a surgery is essential.

What to do if your puppy has a cold?
If a puppy has symptoms of a cold (runny nose, coughing, sneezing), you need to get them antibiotics. Unfortunately dogs won’t get better without treatment in a couple of days like humans do, as a simple cold can even turn into a pneumonia. We recommend Synulox tablets which you should be able to purchase at the vet pharmacy, it contains amoxycillin to which our puppies usually react very well. If you can’t get it, please visit your vet to prescribe it as soon as possible, there’s no point in waiting.
Unfortunately dogs can catch a cold at any time of the year, in the winter because of the cold, in the summer because of the air conditioner. We don’t let our puppies travel even if they have mild symptoms, we rather postpone the flight and cure them first. If you receive your puppy with a runny nose, that means they caught it on the flight. Please give your puppy the antibiotics right away so that they can get better soon.

What to do if your pup has diarrhea?
It can definitely be scary when you see that your little Frenchie is unwell and you’re not sure why it’s happened or what to do. As young puppies lick everything, they can easily get an infection causing diarrhea.
Please reduce the amount of his/her portion for 2 days. Or you can give her/him boiled rice and carrot. Similar to humans, the puppies’ tummy needs a little remedy with a reduced amount of food. If the diarrhea continues after 2 days with the reduced amount of food then your puppy needs antibiotics and probiotics, so please visit your vet. At a young age the puppies’ digestion is very sensitive, similar to human babies.

Normally, diarrhea is not a serious issue and often gets better over a 48-hour period. However, please watch out for more serious signs such as:
– a lack of appetite
– vomiting continually
– blood in stools
– if their diarrhea is persistent (lasting for over 3 days)
– continuous lethargy over a few days

When is the next worming due?
In your puppy’s passport, you can find a list with the date of vaccination and the name of the drug. Find Bravecto, and add 1 month to calculate its expiration.
If you live in an area with many ticks and insects, continue the treatment with Bravecto (exposure time: 3 months, requires additional anthelmintics, too) once the previous Bravecto has expired.
If ticks and insects are not common in your area, there is no need to continue the treatment. In case you notice any sign of worms or insects along the way, we recommend a Bravecto treatment. If no sign of worms or insects, deworming your puppy every 6 months should be enough.
Please consult with your local vet whether heartworm is common in your area or not. If yes, take a heartworm test and if the result is negative, start giving your puppy Nexgard Spectra every 4 weeks during the mosquito season. If you skip more than 4 weeks between 2 Nexgard Spectra pills, please always take a heartworm test before restarting the treatment.

How to deal with separation anxiety?
Some puppies develop separation anxiety and some don’t, it is not fully understood. Whatever the cause, it’s important to realize these behaviors are not malicious and that they are likely to panic or other coping behaviors. Adjusting your puppy to being alone is the best approach.
It’s good for your angel to be comfortable when home alone. You can help your puppy learn this by taking a little time and following these simple steps.
Please start as soon as possible:
-Develop a schedule for your puppy and make sure your family stick to it.
-Always give your puppy an opportunity to go potty prior to crating her/him
-You need to crate train your furry baby and she/he needs to feel confident and calm in the crate.
-Crate your angel for short periods while you are present. For example, when you are watching television, put your puppy in her/his crate and put the crate next to the sofa. Gradually increase the time your angel is crated. Reward quiet behavior with calm praise. Start leaving alone in the crate. Start with just a few minutes at a time. Gradually increase the time spent alone
-Limit the attention she/he gets shortly before leaving or when arriving home.
-When you let your dog out of the crate, remain calm and keep the greetings to a minimum. You don’t want to make your puppy excited.Typically, puppies aren’t ready to be given unsupervised freedom in your home until they are approximately a year-and-a-half or older.
-Try to make sure someone in your family is home as much as possible. Consider hiring a puppy-walker or neighbor to give your puppy a midday break while everyone is in work or school.

Why can’t your Frenchie jumping off high places?
Owning a smaller sized dog requires increased attention from you. With shorter legs, Frenchies are sensitive to height. To prevent any joint injury, like bone fracture, sprain, or wrick, we recommend you not to let your dog jump on and off a higher place.
If you sleep with your Frenchie, and you have a bed with a high box spring, build a ramp so your baby can freely walk up and down. Jumping on and off a regular couch will not cause any harm.
The adult Frenchies’ body structure is a lot more massive. But still, you should be careful with letting your puppy jump off high places.

What to do if your Frenchie is scooting?
Dog scooting might look funny at first, but it’s a sign that something is wrong “back there”.
If you notice your Frenchie scooting just once or just here and there, you might not need to rush off to the vet. It depends on how much it’s happening. Sometimes, they might just have an itch. You could try cleaning the area with a gentle shampoo and soft washcloth, making sure to rinse away all the soap completely and dry the area well with a clean paper towel.
If the dog scooting happens more than once a day, or if the behavior goes on for more than a day or two, it’s time for a visit to the vet.
Here’s a list of possible scooting causes:
1. It might be caused by worms. If you notice any sign of worms in the dog feces, give the dog anthelmintics. Always follow the description on the box regarding the required amount!
2. The stench gland is full. The vet or the dog groomer will express the anal glands.
3. It also might be caused by fungus. Only vets can diagnose this, and they will prescribe a fungicide cream and some pills.

Don’t do these things if you don’t want to irritate your Frenchie
Do you have to wipe your puppy after each bathroom going?
Thanks to their short hair and little tails, Frenchies are generally pretty low-maintenance when it comes to hygiene. Still, we do recommend giving them a gentle wipe after potty time, just to make sure they’re nice and clean.
Is it cruel to dress up a dog?
Not at all! Especially when it comes to Frenchies! Many of them actually need a little extra help staying warm due to their short fur and sensitive bodies. If you like to go on walks even in cold, rainy, or snowy weather, a cozy sweater or raincoat can make your pup much more comfortable.
That said, it’s important that any clothing fits well and doesn’t get in the way of their movement, vision, hearing, or potty time. Some Frenchies genuinely enjoy being dressed up, while others might not be so thrilled, and that’s okay too. The key is to always be respectful of your pup’s comfort and preferences!
