As TomKings Puppies steps into another exciting year, Geri, the co-founder, shares insights into the past year’s highlights, challenges, and our vision for the future. Q: What were the most significant challenges and achievements for TomKings Puppies in the past year?

Geri: Our main goal and mission are to create one big Frenchie family, while also constantly developing TomKings as a whole. This requires not only pouring our hearts and souls and immense energy into our work, but also adopting a professional approach to operate more efficiently. For example, we need to ensure that our team members know exactly when and how to respond to potential and existing owners to provide quick answers to their questions.

So, our biggest challenge last year was to evolve our breeding program while preserving the family spirit in everything we do. I believe we managed to do this successfully. We’ve made significant progress, always prioritizing our love for our puppies. This is what drives us all, to ensure all our puppies are healthy and happy, and our Frenchie parents are satisfied.

Q: Can you share any notable changes or events that occurred within TomKings Puppies over the past year?

Geri: I’m very proud of the improvements we’ve made in our Frenchies’ health screenings, both genetically and in other aspects. Thanks to that we are continually refining our bloodline and producing healthier, more beautiful puppies. We’re also proud that our program has been enriched with new nannies, who, under Tom’s expertise and supervision, can take care of more puppies, providing them with the love and care they deserve.

We also focused on providing more personalized and improved services to both existing and future owners. Last year, new team members joined us – Marko, Jason, and Nelli. Along with the rest of the TomKings team, they focus on giving owners fast and accurate responses before, during, and after the adoption process, including advice on upbringing and health.

An exciting new project we did last year was hosting a French Bulldog Webinar called Frenchie Fiesta, which was attended by over fifty TomKings parents and prospective owners. We not only spoke about ourselves but also gave them a chance to share their experiences, ask questions about French Bulldogs, we even held a quiz. It was a memorable event, and we plan to host similar events this year.

Q: Reflecting on the previous year, what are some memorable moments that stand out for you personally?

Geri: A huge highlight was personally delivering Chunk, a charming and friendly blue French Bulldog, to Neil Patrick Harris. This happened in July 2023, when my brother Tom and I flew to New York. Meeting Neil and his family was a special moment. I was there when Neil’s children, Gideon and Harper, first laid eyes on Chunk. The surprise and sheer joy on their faces were overwhelming; they were absolutely thrilled!

Afterwards, we all went for a walk with Chunk, engaging in a long and enjoyable conversation. As a huge fan of “How I Met Your Mother,” in which Neil starred, this was particularly meaningful for me. Seeing the immense joy and happiness our puppies bring to people, including celebrities like Neil, is incredibly fulfilling. It’s moments like these that really highlight the impact our puppies have, not just as pets, but as sources of happiness and love.

Q: Why do you believe celebrities choose TomKings Puppies? What specific values or qualities do you think make TomKings an appealing choice for them?

Geri: I’m proud that we are increasingly recognized as experts of French Bulldogs worldwide, which attracts celebrities to choose our puppies. I believe our emphasis on ethical breeding and the high standards we represent in both the quality of our puppies and personal customer relationships are values that are important to stars when they look for a furry family member. Ultimately, they are like any other owners, looking for the best for their pets.

Q: With TomKings Puppies being present in 45 countries, how do you navigate the challenges of international adoptions? Were there any new countries that the puppies traveled to last year?

Geri: We’re proud to have our puppies in almost every European country, all US states, and even in several parts of Africa and Asia. Last year, we added new countries to our map, including Belarus, Lithuania, and after a few years’ break, we sent a puppy to a lovely family in Indonesia. Getting our puppies to new countries always involves significant research and logistics, but our shipping expert, Adam, ensures that they safely reach their loving new homes.

Q: The TomKings Frenchie Family Facebook group has grown to over 8500 members last year. How does it feel to see the group become a supportive space for Frenchie enthusiasts? Can you share any heartwarming stories from this community?

Geri: Seeing the evolution of our Facebook group into such a positive and supportive community has been incredibly rewarding. It’s heartening to see how, unlike many other groups, the TomKings Frenchie Family thrives on a spirit of helpfulness. So, despite the rapid growth, the core values of the group haven’t changed.

We share in the delight of each other’s beautiful Frenchies and assist with any dog-related questions, just like one big family. It’s been wonderful to see positive feedback, even from those who don’t yet have a TomKings puppy. We welcome them with open arms, sharing our experiences to prepare them for when they’re ready to become Frenchie parents.

It’s difficult to single out just one story, as each puppy and adopting family is unique and special. However, the posts about puppies’ arrivals are perhaps the most thrilling. Seeing the first meetings and the joy our puppies bring to their new families is an invaluable experience for all of us. It’s these moments that remind us why we do what we do – bringing happiness and love into people’s lives through these wonderful little creatures.

Q: As someone deeply involved in connecting families with Frenchies, how do you see French Bulldogs positively impacting the lives of their humans?

Geri: French Bulldogs are a constant source of joy and cheer for their families, acting as loving companions in everyday life. It’s an invaluable feeling to always have someone excitedly waiting for you when you get home. Their mere presence significantly reduces feelings of loneliness and provides companionship during quiet moments.

In today’s world, where people often face a lot of stress, French Bulldogs play a crucial role in helping alleviate that. They are wonderful emotional support animals. Their affectionate nature makes them excellent at cuddling, providing a soothing effect on their owners.

But it’s not just about the calm they bring; French Bulldogs are also real clowns, bringing laughter and variety into the monotony of everyday life. They have the ability to form very deep emotional bonds with their owners, creating an invaluable treasure for both sides. They can truly change your life for the better.

Q: For those considering adopting a French Bulldog, what advice do you have for them? Are there any essential tips you’d like to share to help potential parents make informed decisions?

Geri: For those thinking of enriching their lives with a Frenchie, I advise first doing thorough research on the breed and then on potential French Bulldog breeders. It’s crucial to understand that adopting a dog is a commitment of at least a decade, so one must be fully aware of what they are getting into.

French Bulldog breeding is complex, as they have difficulties reproducing naturally. A lot of knowledge and experience are required to raise healthy, well-balanced Frenchie puppies, starting from rigorous screening of the parents to the care of the puppies. Therefore, it’s paramount to buy from an ethical breeder who prioritizes the health and happiness of their dogs.

Q: Looking ahead to the upcoming year, what are the goals and plans for TomKings Puppies?

Geri: Our constant goal is to have even more beautiful, happier, and healthier puppies, and to better showcase them to the world. So, we will have stricter health screenings and will aim to produce more beautiful photos and videos of our puppies. We are also continuously working to grow the TomKings family, ensuring each owner receives the same personal attention and prompt, accurate answers to their questions.

One of our biggest plans and challenges is to become the world’s most renowned, respected, and famous French Bulldog kennel from Hungary, a somewhat hidden corner of the world. We aim to influence other breeders and set a positive example in the field, whether it’s about the conditions our puppies grow up in, the health screenings they undergo, or how we treat our puppy owners. This is a massive but exciting challenge that motivates the entire TomKings team.
