Our First Webinar: TomKings Frenchie Fiesta

At TomKings Puppies, part of our mission is to foster a sense of community among Frenchie enthusiasts and celebrate the love and companionship we share with French Bulldogs. This passion inspired the “TomKings Frenchie Fiesta Webinar”, a virtual gathering that united present and future TomKings parents and other Frenchie lovers worldwide. Packed with heartfelt stories of TomKings parents and expert advice on their care, the webinar was a vibrant celebration of the joy these wonderful creatures bring into our lives.

The Details and Purpose of the Webinar

Our TomKings Frenchie Fiesta Webinar was an online Zoom event in December 2023 that we designed to bring our Frenchie family closer together and also provide a platform to meet, share experiences and get to know each other a bit better. While celebrating our shared love for Frenchies, we aimed to put together an interesting webinar that not only educates our family on Frenchie care, out also provide advice for future Frenchie parents.

The event was hosted by Jason and Vivienne from the TomKings Team, who opened the webinar with heartfelt greetings, setting a friendly tone and outlining the event’s purpose to connect and educate our Frenchie community. It was heartwarming to see all the friendly and familiar faces in one screen, many of whom also had their adorable fur babies with them.

As many of the participants were new to the TomKings Frenchie Family, Jason first gave a brief overview of TomKings, sharing details about our beginnings, our dedication to Frenchies, and our philosophy on breeding and care. We even watched two videos together, one about the Story of TomKings Puppies and a testimonial video from our dear TomKings Parents. We closed this segment with a fun Frenchie Trivia Quiz, testing our participants’ knowledge on Frenchies.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of our webinar was the opportunity to hear directly from our Frenchie Family members. Sandi, Debbie and Helen were eager to share their experiences of becoming TomKings Frenchie parents, helping those who are yet to take this step in their lives. Here’s a closer look at their journeys.

Sandi’s Path to Finding TomKings

Sandi’s search for the perfect French Bulldog has finally led her to her sweet baby called Marni in the spring of 2023. She explained, “Every article I read referenced TomKings. So, I kept thinking, why am I looking for a breeder in the US when I kept running into very shady and questionable situations?” Sandi’s diligence in research underscored the importance of finding a reputable breeder, leading her to conclude, “TomKings was the one that all the information was referring back to. So, I knew they were reputable and knew what they were doing.“

Debbie and Scott’s Adoption Adventure

Debbie shared their initial apprehensions and the decisive moment that led them to adopt from TomKings. “Scott did most of the research at first… We got Zoe, she’ll be two next week. And then we got Bella who just turned a year.” Reflecting on their community engagement, Debbie noted, “The Facebook group is one of the most important things that really gives you the connection to others… It’s a great family and a great group of people to talk to.“

Helen’s Serendipitous Encounter

Helen’s story began with an unexpected meeting that set her on the path to TomKings. “I bumped into a woman in a parking lot who had her TomKings dog, and she just could not say enough things about the kennel.” This chance encounter led her to getting Lola from us, a decision she never regretted. Helen emphasized the difference professional assistance made, stating, “I used the broker with Lola and I did not use the broker with Winnie, and that was a mistake… I would strongly recommend the broker.“

Expert Insights and Q&A

A cornerstone of our webinar was the Expert Insights and Q&A session, designed to address the most pressing concerns and curiosities of our community. Before the webinar, we carefully compiled a list of the most common questions received from both prospective and current Frenchie owners.

We answered questions like “What is the best way to deal with separation anxiety with your Frenchie?“, “What to do about my Frenchie’s stubbornness when it comes to walking on a leash?“, but also the common “Is it safe for your puppies to fly?“.

Two topics stood out due to their significance for both present and prospective Frenchie parents: the decision to introduce a second puppy into the family and concerns regarding overseas adoption.

When to Introduce a Second Puppy

A recurring question we addressed was, “How do I know when me and my Frenchie are ready for a second puppy?” Jason explained that the decision to expand your Frenchie family is significant and depends on various factors, including your current pet’s temperament and your capacity to provide for another dog. Our experience shows that Frenchies greatly benefit from companionship.

“Getting a second Frenchie means they’re less likely to have separation anxiety,” he explained during the webinar, highlighting the social nature of Frenchies. The bonding between Frenchies can be remarkably quick, enriching the lives of both pets and owners. “It’s a telltale sign that if you’re ready for another Frenchie, don’t worry about your Frenchie getting jealous,” he advised, based on our observations of the strong bonds formed between Frenchies.

Buying a Puppy from Overseas

Most of our TomKings parents have had this apprehension before getting their babies: “I’m afraid to buy a puppy from overseas… should I not go with TomKings?” Jason reassured our community that, despite the distance, we make the adoption process as transparent and comforting as possible. “Video calls really make your decision to find the puppy of your dreams very easy,” he explained, highlighting the advantages of modern technology in bridging the physical gap. These calls allow you to see and interact with the puppy, ensuring a connection is formed even before the adoption is finalized.

Moreover, we understand the importance of trust in this process. “We always find an appointment that works for us and you,” ensuring that every question is answered and every concern is addressed. This personalized approach helps alleviate the concerns associated with overseas adoption, providing peace of mind to our future Frenchie parents.

The Impact of Frenchies on Lives

During our webinar, we dedicated a special segment to community building, offering a platform for our Frenchie Family members to share their heartwarming stories with their pups. Jason, Amber, Jennifer, along with others, took the opportunity to speak about their first encounters with TomKings Kennel and how welcoming a Frenchie into their lives has led to remarkable transformations.

Among these inspiring stories, the experiences of Charlotte with her Frenchie Chanel, and Valerie with Rex, her service dog, stood out for their profound emotional impact.

Charlotte’s Journey with Chanel

Charlotte shared her emotional journey leading to the adoption of Chanel, a vibrant and loving Frenchie that brought laughter back into her home after a period of loss. “I had always wanted a Frenchie… But prior to getting her, my sole dog, a miniature pincher, was very sick and… we lost her just over two years ago.“

“And she has brought so much joy to our family… just really helped me heal because it was very hard on me losing my other dog.” Chanel’s arrival marked a new chapter of joy and recovery for Charlotte, showcasing the unique comfort and companionship Frenchies offer.

Valerie’s Life-Changing Companion

Valerie introduced her TomKings Frenchie who not only became a beloved pet but also a service dog making significant contributions to the community. Valerie shared that Rex plays a critical role in research and volunteer work. “I take him to see patients in critical care settings in hospitals and in behavioral health,” she said, highlighting the extraordinary impact Rex has on those around him. Rex’s presence provides comfort and support to nurses and staff undergoing traumatic experiences, showcasing the profound emotional support Frenchies can offer.

These stories are just two examples of Frenchies’ power to change your life, reflecting the love, laughter, and comfort they bring into our homes and hearts.
