A French bulldog puppy is a family member and not an object
While we absolutely support the idea of giving a Frenchie puppy as a gift to a loved one, we can’t highlight enough the fact that a dog is also a family member. Unlike many other gifts that you can ignore after the initial period of excitement, adopting a Frenchie puppy is a big decision and responsibility. The sweet furbaby can’t be ‘switched off’ when your loved one starts to be overwhelmed by the daily chores of taking care of him or her.
Always make sure that the person you’d like to gift with a puppy understands the responsibility that comes with adopting a puppy. If it’s a kid, be prepared to take care of the pup yourself in case your kid wants to give up.
Start the adoption process in time
Bear in mind that choosing the right puppy for your loved one takes some time. We always have as many skype video meetings as needed (even if in a lot of cases puppy parents fall in love with their furbaby at first sight.)
The other reason for starting it early is that the earliest your pup can leave our farm is after they are 12 weeks old, and have had all the vaccinations. This also leaves us enough time to start their training and it’s easier for them to settle in their new family.
It doesn’t have to be a surprise
Some of our clients keep it a surprise for their kids or partner and in all of the cases it turned out to be an amazing experience. But always think of the personality and preferences of your loved one. If you think they would prefer to be involved from the beginning and would like to choose their pup themselves, there’s nothing wrong with that.
