TomKings Puppies have been breeding French Bulldogs on their farm for more than 10 years to find a forever loving family for them. Puppies born on the farm live happily all over the US with their caring parents, but how it all started? What’s the story behind TomKings Puppies and what’s the secret of their success? TomKings Puppies Co-Founder Gergely Kiss (or Geri, how everybody calls him) starts the day early on their farm in Southern-Hungary. “When we have new litters like now, it gets very busy here.” – smiles Geri. “But we are used to it and we love to see how they grow.”
Early mornings and perseverance are not unknown to him; not many of his clients know that he is an Olympic athlete, represented Hungary at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Bejing as a freestyle wrestler.
“After I retired from the professional sport, I wanted to go back to the roots, where I spent my childhood; on our farm with the dogs.” – he remembers. He decided with his brother, Tomi (hence the name of the firm) to turn their passion for Frenchies into business. Their love for dogs is backed up by the professional knowledge of Tomi who majored in animal breeding at university, he is running the farm and takes care of the puppies from their birth.
Both of them had already piled up a great deal of knowledge and experience with Frenchies and Geri could use what he learned from sport: discipline, respect for his partners and aiming at being the best.
“We are officially professional breeders, but I don’t like to think of ourselves as such. We raise happy and healthy Frenchies to find them a forever loving family in the US.”
This is underlined by the fact that the puppies are not kept in kennels, they run freely outside, and many of them are inside the house where Geri lives with his family. “Would you keep your family members in a kennel?” – he asks horrified. “Of course you wouldn’t. Frenchies are family members here on the farm and this is how their adopting parents can get a well-balanced, cheerful puppy who can easily fit in.”
The farm is in Hungary, Europe, while all of their clients are from the US. “We have almost 300 adopting parents across the US. Thanks to our location in Hungary, we can keep breeding costs at a reasonable level and at the same time are able to give a higher quality for the same price.” – he explains.
Parents look at the puppies via Skype and usually, it’s love at first sight. “They can see them as many times as they want and we help with recommendations according to their lifestyle and the personality of the puppy.”
They organize all the trip including the flights, passport, crates, and the happy parents pick them up at the airport. “I love to get photos of the first encounter, it’s so touching.”
TomKings Puppies provide not only lifelong health guarantee but also lifelong help to parents. “We have a vast experience and know them from their birth so we can be much more helpful than google. But we also tell them if they should consult a vet.”
Geri and his brother think of the Frenchies and their parents as one big family; they have a closed FB group where they keep in touch with each other, and share photos and also have a popular Instagram account.
“The best thing is that it never feels a job or business to me. We take care of these beauties and find a family for them who love them as much as we do.” – says Geri before disappearing in the house to check if the newborn puppies are properly fed by their mum.
