We already wrote about how crucial the first few weeks of a puppy are. The circumstances they live in, the quality of the food and vitamins, the love and care they get. Now, we guide you behind the scenes at the TomKings Puppies farms and share with you some expert pieces of advice on how much space a Frenchie needs.

How much space does a French bulldog need?

Some of the prospective parents worry about not having a huge garden or backyard as they have the misbelief that Frenchies need a huge space.

The reality is that French Bulldog is a small dog breed that doesn’t require a lot of space. This is rooted in their history: the lacemakers of Normandy kept French Bulldogs in their tiny workspaces. Secondly, they are small in size: an adult Frenchie is 11-12 inches tall, and usually doesn’t weigh more than 30 pounds.

A small backyard would do, and if you don’t have one, regular walks in the nearby park will certainly make your pup happy. The key thing is to keep their place clean and give them enough time to be active, play and run. If they have the chance of letting the steam off, you’ll end up having a well-behaved pup. 🙂 Make sure your puppy meets other pets, people, kids, – especially when they are young – as it helps them socialize.

At the TomKings Puppies farms our Frenchies live as family members: they stay in the house with our nannies who do everything to make them healthy and happy with Tom’s help.

There are huge green spaces for them to run and play when the weather is nice. The various litters have their own fenced sections both inside and outside so even packs of different ages can be outside at the same time. They like to be active, and we give a gentle push even to the lazier pups. 🙂 This is when their muscles grow and the more space they have, the more they can exercise.

To sum it up: don’t worry if you plan to adopt a Frenchie without having a big garden, regular walks and play are more important than that.
