5 Things We’re Thankful for as Frenchie Parents

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to pause for a second and think about what we’re truly thankful for. And for us Frenchie parents, the list usually writes itself. One morning snuggle, one happy wiggle when we walk through the door, one goofy look that melts every worry away, and it’s already clear how much brighter life is with a Frenchie in it.

This year, we asked our TomKings Frenchie Family members what they’re thankful for when it comes to their pups. Dozens of heartfelt messages came in, each one filled with love, humor, little everyday moments, and stories that remind us why these dogs are so special. We gathered them together and created a list of the five things Frenchie parents everywhere can be thankful for, plus one more that means a lot to us at TomKings.

1. Their unconditional love

There’s something special about the way Frenchies love. It’s steady, warm, and honest. They stay close when we need comfort, they celebrate us when we walk through the door, and somehow they always know how to make us feel seen.

Frenchies love with their whole heart. They don’t hold anything back. Their love also doesn’t depend on anything. It’s just there, every single day, exactly when we need it most. And that’s something worth being thankful for every day.

“I am thankful for all the love they bring everyday to me … and how they both love my senior boxer ….” – Victoria

“Everything ! How much they follow me around and can’t be without me. How when I get into bed and once I’m all snug they both curl up next to me on my pillow. The love they give oh my goodness the puppy love ! Love my boys ! ♥️🐾” – Deirdre

“I am thankful for the two best friends a guy could ever ask for! Truth is the most loyal, clingy, and attentive dog I have ever had! And Gizmo is the most loving kind hearted being I have ever met!” – Salvatore

2. Their healing presence

Frenchies have a quiet way of helping us heal. They notice when our shoulders drop, when our voice softens, when something weighs on us. They settle beside us without being asked, they press their warm bodies against us, and they remind us that we’re not alone.

Sometimes they help us through tough days, sometimes they fix tiny cracks we didn’t even realize were there. They bring back warmth where it was missing. Their presence alone can be healing.

to Raising a Frenchie

“I’m thankful for Borris; my chunky little emotional support baguette, who lays across my lap every single morning during coffee time like it’s his full-time job. Those quiet moments, his warm weight, those slight snorts…they’ve healed pieces of me I didn’t even know were cracked. His soft, squishy snuggles have stitched my heart back together one sleepy oink at a time.

I’m also thankful for Stella; the tiny tornado of affection, who burrows her whole face into you like she’s trying to merge souls. She doesn’t ask permission, she just launches herself into pure love mode. No words, no warning…just a full-body Frenchie hug that hits harder than therapy and carbs combined.” – Alyson

“I am so grateful for his sweetness and how he knows when I need him most. How he makes me laugh when we play ball and how he doesn’t care I have to throw the ball left handed cause I hurt my right shoulder. Frankie is just the perfect boy for me! I am grateful!!!” – Lynn

3. The everyday joy they bring

One of the best things about living with a Frenchie is how they turn ordinary moments into something brighter. A funny sideways glance, a wild round of zoomies, the way they press their whole body against us in the morning as if to say this day is already good because we’re together.

They walk into a room and suddenly everything feels a bit softer, a bit funnier, a bit more alive. They make us laugh when we don’t expect it, and they remind us to slow down and enjoy the small things. It’s hard to stay serious when a Frenchie is around, and maybe that’s the magic of them. Their joy is simple, pure, and contagious.

“I am thankful for Mochiko and the way his smiles melt my heart 💜” – Melissa

“Thankful for the joy Wilfrid brings to my life. And he has brought new vitality to Nola.” – Susanne

“I am thankful for my Luna Tuna! She brings me joy with every little antics she manages to get herself into. I love this little peanut!” – Ivette

4. Their loyalty and devotion

Frenchies stay close in a way that feels almost human. They follow us from room to room, curl up beside us the second we slow down, and keep watch when we rest. Their loyalty isn’t loud or dramatic. It’s gentle and steady, shown in the way they choose us over and over again throughout the day.

A Frenchie doesn’t just live with you. A Frenchie lives for you. They make it clear where their heart is, and it’s always right next to ours. Their devotion is simple and honest, and it’s one of the greatest gifts they give us.

“I am thankful for my two frenchies. They give me so much joy and happiness. Most of all I love their snuggles.” – Tara

“They are very exciting dogs full of energy, very peaceful, playful, very dedicated and they are very comforting in terms of need mind sleeps with me every night and he knows when I’m hurting and he knows when I’m happy. He’s an amazing dog and he loves to play with his toys and we play for hours and we go for a long walks. They’re just all around fantastic dogs.” – Ann

5. The way they make our families complete

A Frenchie has a special way of filling a home. They bring warmth where it was quiet, laughter where it was missing, and a sense of togetherness that settles in before we even notice. Families grow closer, routines get sweeter, and everyday life feels a little more whole with a small, snorting companion in the middle of it all.

They don’t just join our families. They complete them. They become a source of comfort, a spark of joy, and often the missing piece we didn’t even know we were searching for.

“I’m thankful every minute Tuckers presence has added a new meaning to our lives.
He’s perfect! And knowing he’s bred so perfectly makes me SUPER thankful. Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃”
– Deborah

“I am thankful that Leo turned out to be the PERFECT dog for our family at this stage of life. We had not owned a dog in over 20 years, and I was nervous about jumping in again… but our experience has just been wonderful. Leo is the happiest, friendliest, healthiest dog I know. He doesn’t bark, is potty-trained, and we’ve finally gotten him to quit chewing the staircase. And he is just always so, so happy to see us. He greets everyone, friend and stranger, with joy. I didn’t know what we were missing.” – Karen
