Over the last decade, hundreds of our sweet puppies have traveled to their forever loving families in the US and worldwide. In this article, we’ll share how your new Frenchie will reach you and how you should prepare for seeing them for the first time. Rest assured, all ways of transport are completely safe and enjoyable for the pups!
The TomKings farms are located in Europe, Hungary where we have been breeding French Bulldogs for more than 17 years. Our breeding expenses are therefore much less so we can provide the highest quality at a reasonable price. Since we’re on another continent, that means our pups have to fly overseas to their new parents in the US. Below, we’ll detail all ways of transport in which our puppies can travel to you.
Puppy transport
Our Frenchies normally travel by plane with experts of pet transport. Airlines have special places for pets where they are protected from cargo and luggage. It is temperature-controlled and pressurized just like the cabin. The pups travel in an airline-approved plastic crate from which they can easily see out the sides and front. They have enough food and water for the journey, extra food is also taped to the side of the crate for unexpected delays.
The puppies are absolutely treated as human passengers, and there is always someone with them on the flight. During layovers, they are taken off the plane and placed in a temperature-controlled holding room until they are put on their connecting flight. There they get fresh food and water as well.
We always make sure that our puppies’ journey to their forever home is safe and pleasant. A lot of people think that the animals are drugged, put in a box, tossed around with the rest of the baggage, or left in cold planes for hours, etc. If this was true then we would never ship our puppies!
Traveling with a nanny
Our puppies can also fly with a nanny (for an extra fee), in this case they travel in the cabin in a soft crate. Upon arrival, the nanny personally hands over the puppy to the new parent at the airport at the scheduled time. Within Europe, our nanny can also deliver our pups by car directly to the owner’s home, although this service is not available in all European countries. In this case, the pup travels in the nanny’s special transport box.
Arranging the trip
On the day of your puppy’s arrival, all you need to do is to show up and collect your new furry family member. We arrange the whole trip from buying the flight ticket and the crate to arranging the passport. The airline will call you to confirm the exact location, time and everything else you need to know.
Available airports
We can ship to the following airports in the US and Canada: Atlanta, Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Denver (500 USD extra), Houston, New York – JFK, New York – Newark, Los Angeles, Miami, Detroit (500 USD extra), Austin (500 USD extra), Montreal, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver or Washington DC.
We can send our puppies to other minor airports with two transfers only, which we don’t recommend as that way the trip would be too long for the pups. If you are unable to pick up your puppy at any of the airports above, we can provide nanny service to almost all US airports for an extra fee. Healthy pups
Our puppies are checked three times before their trip, who also issues a shipping health certificate for them. Our puppies are well fed when they arrive and they are not exhausted. As this will be the first time they see you, it’s perfectly normal if your baby is a bit reserved at first. It usually doesn’t take long for their true personality to come out!
How to prepare
We always tell you what kind of food to buy for your Frenchie, and we give you as much information as you need on all the preparations. Our TomKings parents recommend bringing these to the airport: baby wipes, Clorox bleach wipes, a pair of scissors to cut the wire ties, puppy pee pads, and just in case, your passport (they don’t ask for it in most cases).
