We gathered all the information and created a list of the five most beloved personality traits. Keep reading to find out why this breed earned a respectable 4th place!

1. Frenchies are insanely affectionate

French bulldogs are truly affectionate when it comes to bonding, and this is one of the main reasons why we think French bulldogs are perfect family dogs. This personality trait roots deep in the breed’s history. During the early 1800s, small-sized bulldogs were extremely popular among English and French lacemakers. While working, these small dogs were peacefully lying in their laps, keeping the owners warm. Cuddling is a seemingly strong instinct in this bloodline up until today.

“Cuddles, cuddles, and more cuddles!” (Alyson)

“Louie loves to cuddle and give you the best kisses!” (Kim)

“Nyah loves to help with laundry and keep you company while you fold clothes.” (Lauren)

2. Frenchies are extremely friendly with kids and other animals

The second most beloved personality trait of French bulldogs is their friendliness. French bulldogs are an extremely friendly breed, whether we talk about children or other animals, such as a cat. So don’t worry if you have kids or other animals! They could become best friends in a sec!

Read what some of the TFF members said about their puppies’ friendliness:

“My girls, Lola and Winnie Loo love people and especially children. There are 4 little girls in our cul-de-sac and my girls love them!” (Helen)

“She loves to meet the neighbors and neighborhood kids. She does so well with really small children even though she is not around them often.” (Lauren)

“Ilka is the sweetest! She is more of a human person than for dog as I noticed. She would greet humans before starting playing with dogs, haha! But she is always sweet around anyone. My friends are In love with her!” (Kripa)

3. Frenchies are smart

Dogs’ smartness is a complex question that we discussed in detail in this article. In sum, Frenchies’ smartness consists of three main components: instinctive intelligence, obedience intelligence, and adaptive intelligence. And while Frenchies are great at reading people’s emotions and solving problems, they don’t perform great on obedience tests. However, the poor performance is caused by their stubbornness, not because they wouldn’t understand the commands. If you are having trouble with crate training, leash training, or basic commands, we have plenty of helpful and proven-to-work information for you on our blog.

Read what some of the TFF members said about their French bulldog’s intelligence:

“Nyah was so easy to train and listens very well.” (Lauren)

“Ilka was stubborn at starting. We had a hard time as first pawrents but by reading books, YouTube videos, and having her around we learned a lot. But we got she was a FOOD driven girl so learned quickly… I was so surprised to see her learn commands so quickly, even crate training we could make her adapt using treats, toys, kong treats!” (Kripa)

“Today we hit THREE weeks with zero potty accidents for the FIRST TIME!!!! We haven’t had a poop accident since she was a tiny baby and that only happened twice. This is between home and all other friends’ homes – we go lots of places together!” (RonĂ©e)

4. Frenchies can easily adapt to your lifestyle

One of the most amazing personality traits of French bulldogs is how easygoing they are. They can adapt to your lifestyle without a hassle. They are well suited to both slow suburban and fast-paced metropolitan environments. They love to be on the road, visiting new places, meeting new people, and smelling new scents! You can take them with you to work, and they love going on a vacation just as you do!

Read some short notes on how easygoing TFF members’ puppies are:

“Nyah adjust really well to whatever our day may hold, whether it’s lounging around and cuddling, or car rides and outings. She’s fine as long as she gets to be with us.” (Lauren)

“Ilka adjusts to everything.” (Kripa)

Here comes our favorite personality trait: Frenchies are the masters of fun! They can make us laugh at any time, especially when we play with them. Frenchies are aware of their great personality, and it seems like their mission is to cheer up the owners and everyone around. The most hilarious periods are the zoomies when they go crazy out of the blue, and start running around for a few minutes.

Here’s what one of our TFF members told us about her puppy:

“Nyah loves to chase anything with wheels scooters and hoverboards are her favorite…also squirrels! She always being silly to make you laugh or doing something sweet to melt your heart.” (Lauren)
